Participate in the socio-economic development of the country, the state of Maranhão and in particular the municipality of Chapadinha, as a consultation, advisory, and service provider in the various areas of knowledge;

Promote undergraduate, higher technology, postgraduate, updating, extension, and professional training courses, both in person and at distance;

Promote the continuing education of members of the institutional academic community;

Contribute to the formation of citizenship, in a process of permanent education of society;

Promote environmental education aiming at the defense and valorization of the environment;

Train professionals and specialists at a higher level;

Train graduates, bachelors and technologists to work in the world of work and in the labor market;

Meet the regional demand for higher education in teaching, seeking ways to absorb expressive contingents of students from Baixo Parnaíba Maranhense and Alto Munim;

Develop curricular proposals focused on themes related to the interests and demands of students, aimed at building a broader professional knowledge;

Permanently evaluate courses, programs and academic practices, in a qualitative dimension, aiming to guide decisions for the improvement of the institutional structure;

Support and develop teaching programs, Scientific Initiation practices, research and extension;

Promote discussions on educational reforms and innovations and public policies relevant to the organizations of the education systems, aiming at the insertion of the student in social projects;

Provide the Profª Luzimar Ferreira Library with titles and copies, in accordance with the current rules, expressed in undergraduate courses, and the needs of the teaching staff and students of the HEI;

Offer teaching and research extension to the community, through courses and services;

Organize and regularly monitor the Institution's financial budget and management accounting.
